As the year comes to an end, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by individuals, organisations and local businesses collecting on our behalf this festive season.
Through donations of toiletries, food parcels, children’s presents and warm clothing, our community has pulled out all the stops to support the people who need it at this time of year from those struggling to make ends meet to children and young people in care.
Food Parcels
We have received a generous supply of food parcels from Love Ipswich which has enabled us to support over 50 vulnerable individuals and families across our Housing Services.
Their support has allowed our service users to prepare meals without worry and ensure that vulnerable individuals can enjoy a Christmas meal with all the trimmings!

Clothing and Toiletries
We have also been taking donations of basic essentials, things that many take for granted - shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant and even toilet roll. These are coming in from local businesses whose staff have been collecting them on our behalf and will be a welcome gift to our service users over Christmas and the winter months. A particular thank you to Howard Construction who donated everything in the photo below.
Donations of hats, gloves, scarves, and other warm clothing are especially meaningful as we hit the colder months. These items help protect our service users from harsh weather and offer comfort to those who may be rough sleeping and struggling to afford winter essentials.

Children’s Presents
The wonderful team at ARC Recruitment have been collecting donations of toys, books and games to gift to over 70 children and young people in our Independent Visiting, Domestic Abuse Mentoring and Refugee Resettlement Services. These services are vital in ensuring they feel seen and receiving a gift at Christmas will be a valuable part of this.

Christmas Dinner
Just to add to this generosity, we have also been donated everything needed to cook a Christmas Dinner for over 30 of our tenants. This has been gifted by the Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal who have provided three 6kg turkey crowns, 20kg of potatoes, 35kg of vegetables, 120 chipolatas and much more. Thanks to their kindness and the culinary skills of our staff, over 30 of our tenants will be coming together for a Christmas meal that they may otherwise have missed out on. Not only that, we couldn’t miss an empowerment opportunity and some of them will be getting involved with the food preparation and cooking!
January Donations
The support we’ve had over the festive period has been brilliant, but for us it doesn’t stop here. We are always looking for ways to enhance the services we offer to the people we work with.
We continue to welcome donations of any of the below in the new year to allow us to provide winter care packages for our tenants who particularly struggle financially after Christmas. This is a great opportunity to donate any unwanted Christmas presents! If you are able to donate any of the below, please contact our Business Support Team on admin@angliacaretrust.org.uk or 01473 622888.
