Anglia Care Trust is delighted to be taking part in this year’s Anglia Business Exhibition next month.

As a charity, we provide a range of services dedicated to supporting people in the community to achieve their full potential, whatever their circumstances.  This event offers a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with local businesses, sharing the impact of our work and the ways local businesses can get involved and support us.

We are especially proud to attend this year as ISSBA’s charity partner - collaboration between the voluntary sector and local businesses is vital in building stronger, more resilient communities and we are excited to be part of an event that celebrates that shared commitment.

At the exhibition, we will be holding a fundraising raffle to support our Empowerment Fund - a vital resource for our service users to help them achieve their full potential.  Funded entirely through donations, this fund helps cover essential costs that cannot be met through traditional grants or statutory funding. Here are just a couple of things the fund has recently been used for:

• Sue had been made homeless by her previous landlord and had been sleeping rough. When she secured accommodation, her Support Officer applied to the Empowerment Fund to purchase some essential items to make it feel more like a home.
• Joan was a tenant in one of our properties and was really keen to gain employment to build her independence. She secured an interview but lacked the confidence to attend the interview as didn’t have any suitable clothes. Her Support Officer applied to the Empowerment Fund to purchase interview clothing, making her feel more positive about attending.
• Terry was homeless and struggling to apply for Housing because he didn’t have any ID – his Support Officer applied to the Empowerment Fund to gain him a birth certificate so that he was able to register with Gateway to HomeChoice and secure accommodation.

The Empowerment Fund is all about removing barriers and giving people the practical support they need to take positive steps forward.

We are inviting businesses, both within the ISSBA network and beyond, to support this by donating raffle prizes or gifts in advance of the event. Whether it’s a voucher, product, service, or experience, every contribution will help us maintain the accessibility of this this fund to those that need it.
